How Bad Alignment Affects Your Tires & Suspension

Your Volkswagen wheels are mounted and secured in place by a suspension system that is both rigid and fluid. It’s rigid in that in optimal driving conditions (flat, straight roads), your suspension system makes sure that your tires are firmly planted to the ground and that the entire face of the tire is making even contact with the road surface. Over time, due to a serious collision or small, repeated bumps, your wheels can be pushed out of alignment. This causes your tires not to run flush with the road. For example, your tires may be slightly tilted inside or outside the wheel, causing more wear on that section of the tire. When that happens, tires will wear more quickly, suspension parts can become damaged, and you’ll find yourself faced with a repair or replacement bill.
